Nécrologie de Victorin (Vic) Lanoix

Nous avons le regret d’annoncer le décès de Victorin (Vic) Lanoix de Hearst le 29 janvier 2026 à l’âge de 86 ans à l’hôpital Notre-Dame de Hearst. Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse Odette et ses cinq enfants : Lucie (Roger), Jeanne (Daniel), Robert (Sandra), Luc (Claudine) et Linda (Keith). Il laisse également dans le deuil neufs petits-enfants : Geneviève (Derek), Jonathan (Stéphanie), Marie-Hélène (Kevin), Mélissane (Jean-Benoît), Marc-Antoine, Katelynn (Kevin), Allen (Diana), Emilyne (Randy) et Fanny (Julien). Il laisse aussi dans le deuil neuf arrières petits-enfants : Maxime, Cédric, Henry, Jayden, Hudson, Cody, Rosalie, Elliott, Annabelle ainsi que deux autres qui s’ajouteront bientôt à la famille.

Il laisse aussi dans le deuil deux frères, Lucien et Marcel et deux sœurs, Céline (Blouin) et Carmen ainsi que plusieurs beaux-frères et belles-sœurs, plusieurs neveux et nièces ainsi que plusieurs amis.

On se souvient de Vic comme d’un homme d’affaires, un entrepreneur de plusieurs entreprises localisées à Hearst : All North Plumbing & Heating, Cler-Vican, Commercial Builders pour en nommer quelques-uns. Notre père était ferblantier de métier mais il a aussi exercé plusieurs sous-métiers et métiers dont « gas fitter», mécanicien gazier, estimateur, constructeur de maison, inventeur, ingénieur à ses heures, installateur de tuyauterie industriel et j’en passe. Papa était et a été un leader dans la communauté surtout dans le domaine de la construction.

On se souvient de Vic comme d’une personne qui se faisait facilement des liens et des amis. C’était soit pour pratiquer ses loisirs dont le hockey quand il était plus jeune, pour pratiquer la chasse et la pêche, pour aller en voyage en motorisé, pour voyager dans le sud, pour se trouver des alliés dans ses projets d’entreprises et en construction et aussi pour pratiquer sa passion préférée qui était l’aviation avec ses petits avions. Il s’est fait aussi un bon réseau d’amis avec l’organisme des Chevaliers de Colomb, il a même été Grand Chevalier.

Vic avec son épouse Odette a assuré pour ses enfants respectifs un toit pour les garder au chaud, pour qu’ils aient de la nourriture sur la table et qu’ils puissent connaitre la joie de vivre grand. En partant avec de peu de choses et d’argent et avec beaucoup de travail et d’efforts, Vic était fier d’avoir réussi une famille, leur famille. Il était fier de chacun et chacune d’entre nous : enfants, petits-enfants et arrière-petits-enfants. Il aimait bien nous rassembler, nous réunir tout autant qu’il aimait le faire avec la parenté et avec les amis.

Nous pouvons dire avec assurance que Vic a laissé dans le cœur de plusieurs personnes de nombreux souvenirs.

M. Victorin Lanoix reposera au Services Funéraires Fournier le mardi, 3 février 2026 de 18h à 20h.  Les funérailles auront lieu le mercredi, 4 février 2026 à 10h30 en la Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Hearst avec le Père Hervé Sauvé comme célébrant.

We regret to announce the passing of Victorin (Vic) Lanoix of Hearst on January 29, 2026, at the age of 86, at Notre-Dame Hospital in Hearst. He is survived by his loving wife, Odette, and his five children: Lucie (Roger), Jeanne (Daniel), Robert (Sandra), Luc (Claudine), and Linda (Keith). He is also survived by nine grandchildren: Geneviève (Derek), Jonathan (Stéphanie), Marie-Hélène (Kevin), Mélissane (Jean-Benoît), Marc-Antoine, Katelynn (Kevin), Allen (Diana), Emilyne (Randy), and Fanny (Julien). He also leaves behind nine great-grandchildren: Maxime, Cédric, Henry, Jayden, Hudson, Cody, Rosalie, Elliott, Annabelle, as well as two more who will soon join the family.

He is also survived by two brothers, Lucien and Marcel, and two sisters, Céline (Blouin) and Carmen, along with many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, several nieces and nephews, and many friends.

Vic will be remembered as a businessman and entrepreneur who owned and operated several companies in Hearst, including All North Plumbing & Heating, Cler-Vican, and Commercial Builders, among others. By trade, he was a sheet metal worker, but throughout his life he practiced many related trades and skills, including gas fitter, gas technician, estimator, home builder, inventor, part-time engineer, industrial piping installer, and more. Vic was and remained a leader in the community, particularly in the construction industry.

Vic will also be remembered as someone who easily built connections and friendships. Whether through his hobbies—playing hockey in his younger years, hunting and fishing, traveling by motorhome, wintering in the south—or through business and construction projects, he had a gift for bringing people together. His greatest passion was aviation, which he enjoyed through flying his small airplanes. He also built a strong network of friends through the Knights of Columbus, where he served as Grand Knight.

Together with his wife Odette, Vic ensured that their children always had a warm home, food on the table, and the opportunity to experience the joy of growing up. Starting with very little and through hard work and perseverance, Vic was proud of what he had built—most of all, his family. He was proud of each and every one of us: his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He loved bringing the family together, just as much as he enjoyed gatherings with extended family and friends.

We can say with confidence that Vic has left countless memories in the hearts of many.

Mr. Victorin Lanoix will be resting at Fournier Funeral Services on Tuesday, February 3rd, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 4th, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Notre-Dame Cathedral in Hearst, with Father Hervé Sauvé officiating.
