Nécrologie de Mario Gauvin

Nous avons le regret d'annoncer le décès de M. Mario Gauvin, à l'âge de 69 ans, survenu le samedi 4 juillet 2026 à Hearst.

Il laisse dans le deuil ses enfants : Rémi (Karine) d'Ottawa, Lianne (Eric) et Patrick (Louise), tous deux de Hearst, ainsi que ses petits-enfants : Daphnée, Viviane, Remi et Clement.

Il laisse également dans le deuil ses frères et sœurs : Colombe (David Bantey) de Boisbriand, Jacinthe (Réjean Jolin) et Lina (Ghislain Allard) de Hearst, William Crane (feu Arlene) de Picton, Robert Crane (Marcelle) de Victoria, Agnès Hatch (feu Jim) d'Ottawa, Anita Lindsay (Moe) de Saskatoon, Mark Crane (Micheline) de Windsor, ainsi que les familles de feu Yvan (Jeannine) de Windsor, de feu Solange (Ben Morin) de Hearst et de feu Gilbert Gauvin de Hearst. Il fut précédé dans la mort par son père, Maurice Gauvin, et sa mère, Marguerite Gauvin (née Payeur).

C'est avec une profonde tristesse que nous rendons hommage à Mario, un homme au cœur immense, dont la bonté, la générosité et la bienveillance ont profondément marqué tous ceux qui ont eu le privilège de le connaître.

Mario a parcouru la vie avec simplicité, humilité et une foi profonde qui l'a toujours guidé. Père aimant et grand-père attentionné, il trouvait sa plus grande richesse auprès des siens.

Passionné de pêche et de chasse, il trouvait dans la nature une source de paix et de liberté. Les forêts, les lacs et les grands espaces verts étaient pour lui bien plus qu'un refuge : ils étaient un lieu de ressourcement où il se sentait véritablement chez lui.

Toujours prêt à tendre la main, Mario aidait les autres sans jamais rien attendre en retour. Ses précieux conseils, son écoute attentive et sa présence réconfortante ont touché d'innombrables vies. Il laisse derrière lui le souvenir d'un homme authentique, profondément dévoué à sa famille, à ses amis et à sa communauté.

Son départ laisse un immense vide dans nos vies. Toutefois, son héritage d'amour, de générosité et de bonté continuera de vivre dans le cœur de tous ceux qui l'ont connu et aimé.

Une célébration de la vie de Mario aura lieu à la Cathédrale Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption de Hearst le vendredi 17 juillet à 16 h 15.

Fidèle à son amour de la nature, Mario aurait souhaité que, en sa mémoire, un don soit fait au Camp Source de Vie ou à un organisme voué à la conservation de la faune et des habitats naturels, tel que Nature Conservancy of Canada (natureconservancy.ca).

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Mario Gauvin, at the age of 69, on Saturday, July 4, 2026, in Hearst.

He leaves to mourn his children: Rémi (Karine) of Ottawa, Lianne (Eric) and Patrick (Louise), both of Hearst; and his cherished grandchildren: Daphnée, Viviane, Remi, and Clement.

He is also survived by his siblings: Colombe (David Bantey) of Boisbriand, Jacinthe (Réjean Jolin) and Lina (Ghislain Allard) of Hearst, William Crane (late Arlene) of Picton, Robert Crane (Marcelle) of Victoria, Agnes Hatch (late Jim) of Ottawa, Anita Lindsay (Moe) of Saskatoon, and Mark Crane (Micheline) of Windsor. He will also be dearly missed by the families of the late Yvan (Jeannine) of Windsor, the late Solange (Ben Morin) of Hearst, and the late Gilbert Gauvin of Hearst. He was predeceased by his father, Maurice Gauvin, and his mother, Marguerite Gauvin (née Payeur).

It is with profound sorrow that we pay tribute to Mario, a man with a generous heart whose kindness, compassion, and selflessness left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Mario lived his life with simplicity, humility, and a deep faith that guided him every step of the way. A devoted father and loving grandfather, he found his greatest joy and fulfillment in spending time with his family.

An avid fisherman and hunter, Mario found peace and freedom in nature. The forests, lakes, and open wilderness were far more than a place of refuge—they were where he felt most at home and where he renewed his spirit.

Always willing to lend a helping hand, Mario gave freely of himself without ever expecting anything in return. His thoughtful advice, attentive listening, and comforting presence touched countless lives. He will be remembered as a genuine man, deeply devoted to his family, his friends, and his community.

His passing leaves an immeasurable void in our lives. Yet his legacy of love, generosity, and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

A Celebration of Life for Mario will be held at Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption Cathedral in Hearst on Friday, July 17, at 4:15 p.m.

In keeping with his love of nature, Mario would have appreciated donations made in his memory to Camp Source de Vie or an organization dedicated to the conservation of wildlife and natural habitats, such as the Nature Conservancy of Canada (natureconservancy.ca).
