Nécrologie de Joseph Colazzi

It is with deep sorrow the family announces the death of their beloved husband, father, grand-father, great-grand-father, Joseph G. (Joe) Colazzi, of Hornepayne, ON. He passed away in the long term care, at the Hornepayne Community Hospital, on September 10, 2023, after a long bout with Alzheimer’s.

He was born in Clute, Ontario on December 18, 1926, and lived his entire life in Ontario. Joe married Elvine Genier on July 4, 1955 and went on to have three children Moreen, Cheryl and Wyatt. He retired from the Ontario Northland Railroad in 1985.

He is survived by his wife Elvine, nee-Genier, his son Wyatt Colazzi (Gina ), two daughters, Cheryl (Randy) Browne, and Moreen (Robert) Cox, five grand-children, Jeffery Colazzi (Amanda), Corrine Colazzi (Kaleb), Trevor  Browne (Gretchen), Angele (Jamie) McDonald and Mathew (Tania) Cox, and eleven great-grand children.

He is pre-deceased by two grand-sons Christopher Cox, Vernon Browne and eleven brothers and sisters.

He was a loving family man and enjoyed the time he spent with them.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the great outdoors.

Joe is being cremated and a graveside service will be held on September 30 at 2 pm, at the Hornepayne Cemetery.  A gathering will follow at the Legion Hall in Hornepayne.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or the Hornepayne Community Hospital will be greatly appreciated by the family.  

La famille informe avec une grande tristesse le décès de leur époux, père, grand-père, arrière-grand-père, Joseph G. (Joe) Colazzi, de Hornepayne, en Ontario. Il est décédé aux soins de longue durée de l’Hôpital communautaire Hornepayne, le 10 septembre 2023, après un long combat contre la maladie d’Alzheimer.

Il est née à Clute en Ontario, le 18 décembre 1926, et a vécu toute sa vie en Ontario. Joe a épousé Elvine Genier le 4 juillet 1955 et a eu trois enfants Moreen, Cheryl et Wyatt. Il a pris sa retraite de chemin de fer Ontario Northland en 1985. 

Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse Elvine, née Genier, son garçon Wyatt Colazzi (Gina), deux filles, Cheryl (Randy) Browne et Moreen (Robert) Cox, cinq petits-enfants, Jeffery Colazzi (Amanda), Corrine Colazzi ( Kaleb ), Trevor Browne (Gretchen), Angele (Jamie) McDonald et Mathew (Tania) Cox, ainsi que onze arrière-petits-enfant.

Il est précédé par deux petits-fils Christopher Cox, Vernon Browne et onze frères et sœurs.

Il était un père de famille aimant et il appréciait le temps qu'il passait avec eux.

Il avait une passion de chasse et de pêche et adorait le plein air.

Joe sera incinéré et le service funéraire aura lieu le 30 septembre à 14 h, au cimetière Hornepayne. Un rassemblement suivra à la salle de la Légion à Hornepayne.

Au lieu de fleurs, des dons à la Société Alzheimer du Canada ou à l'Hôpital communautaire Hornepayne seront grandement appréciés par la famille.
