Nécrologie de Josaphat Gosselin

We regret to announce the death of Mr. Josaphat Gosselin at the age of 86, on Sunday July 14th, 2024 at the Notre-Dame Hospital in Hearst.  He is survived by his loving wife Eva (born Glena), as well as his children; Constance Fillion (Roger Fillion) from Nakina and Robin Gosselin (Pauline Bennett) from Garson.  He will also be missed by his grandchildren; Sarah Fillion (Ryan), Ryan Fillion (Carrie), Colton Gosselin (Kailey) and Kaegan (Dylan), his brothers; Rémi Gosselin (late Therese Gilbert), Gaëtan Gosselin (Ginette Lacroix), his sisters; Ginette Gosselin (late Rejean Tremblay), Claude Pouliot, Jocelyne Gosselin (Gretta), Françine Gosselin (Sandra), Murielle Gosselin (late Richard  Arsenault), and Sylvie Gosselin, his brother's-in-law; Denis Cossette, Morris Glena (Marnie), Walter Glena (Debra), and Harry Glena (Bernice), his sister's-in-law; Vicki Norris and Elizabeth Daniels, as well as many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and also many cousins. 

He was predeceased by his parents; Joseph Gosselin, his birth mother Edith Vaillancourt, his step mother Rita Breton, his parents-in-law; Paul and Annie Glena, his brothers; Germain (Diane Blanchard), Ronald (Noeline Marchildon), his sister Josette Gosselin (Denis Cosette), his brother's-in-law: Michael Glena, Anthony Glena and Lawrence Glena, his sister's-in-law; Mary Glena (Matthew) Butschler, Stephaney Glena (Mike) Zwarich and Olga Glena (Dick) Vecqueray.

Joe was in all his glory when partridge season opened.  He enjoyed hunting with Robin, Colton and his friend Gilles Gagnon.  He enjoyed camping with the grandchildren when they were younger.  Joe loved playing darts at the Seniors Club, was an avid Hockey fan whose favorite team was the Montreal's Canadiens.  Puttering in his shed was the highlight of his day, taking used articles and making something out of them.  He would hop onto the scooter and do the streets to collect the news of the day or of the week.  He was a true friend to all his "Buddies" and coworkers.  Joe was a member of the local Chapter of the Knights of Columbus.  He will be sadly missed by all who knew him, especially by his grandchildren whom he adored.  He was "Grampa" to Sarah and Ryan, and Papa Joe to Colton and Kaegan.  Joe's sense of humour kept everyone laughing.

A special thank you to Luc, Michel, Carole, Syl, Mary Anne and Sylvie.  All the doctors and nurses, who gave Joe such good care during his last days, Thank you!

The funeral will be held on Saturday, July 27th 2024 at 4 PM at the St. Francis Xavier Church in Mattice.

Nous avons le regret d'annoncer le décès de M. Josaphat Gosselin, à l'âge de 86 ans, le dimanche 14 juillet 2024 à l'hôpital Notre-Dame de Hearst.  Il laisse dans le deuil sa tendre épouse Eva (née Glena) et ses enfants; Constance Fillion (Roger Fillion) de Nakina et Robin Gosselin (Pauline Bennett) de Garson.  Il laisse également dans le deuil ses petits-enfants; Sarah Fillion (Ryan), Ryan Fillion (Carrie), Colton Gosselin (Kailey) et Kaegan (Dylan), ses frères; Rémi Gosselin (feue Thérèse Gilbert), Gaëtan Gosselin (Ginette Lacroix), ses soeurs; Ginette Gosselin (feu Réjean Tremblay), Claude Pouliot, Jocelyne Gosselin (Gretta), Françine Gosselin (Sandra), Murielle Gosselin (feu Richard Arsenault), et Sylvie Gosselin, ses beaux-frères; Denis Cossette (Marthe), Morris Glena (Marnie), Walter Glena (Debra) et Harry Glena (Bernice), ses belles-soeurs; Vicki Norris et Elizabeth Daniels, de même que plusieurs neveux, nièces, arrière-neveux, arrière-nièces et plusieurs cousins et cousines.

Joe était dans toute sa gloire lorsque la chasse à perdrix ouvrait.  Il appréciait aller à la chasse avec Robin.Colton et son ami Gilles Gagnon.  Il adorait faire du camping avec ses petits-enfants lorsqu'ils étaient jeunes.  Joe aimait jouer aux dards au Club des séniors, était un grand amateur de hockey, surtout son équipe préférée, les Canadiens de Montréal.  Pigrasser dans sa shed fut les meilleurs moments de sa journée d'où il créait des "patentes à Joe".  Il sautait sur son scooter et parcourait les rues pour faire la collection des nouvelles de la journée ou de la semaine.  Il était un ami véritable à tous ses copains et co-équipiers.  Joe fut membre du Chapitre local des Chevaliers de colomb.  Il manquera beaucoup à tous ceux qui l'ont connu, en particulier ses petits-enfants qu'il adorait.  Il fut "Grampa" pour Sarah et Ryan, "Papa Joe" pour Colton et Kaegan.  Le sens de l'humour à Joe fut incontournable à faire rire tout le monde.  Un merci spécial à Luc, Michel, Carole, Syl, MaryAnne et Sylvie.  Tous les médecins et infirmières qui ont prodigué de si bons soins à Joe, Merci!
