Mr. Richard John Ferris

Sunrise: May 13th, 1933  -  Sunset: July 30th, 2024

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard John Ferris of Constance Lake First Nation.  Loving husband of Laura Ferris (nee Taylor), father of Raymond (Mary), John, Esther, Leonard (Sylvie), Bernard (Judy).  Predeceased by daughter Elaine and son Randy.  Grandfather to 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.  Predeceased by parents William and Emily Ferris (nee Baxter) of Pagwa River.  Also predeceased by stepmother Alice Faries and by brother Gilbert Ferris, sisters Greta Bull, Caroline Gillis, Esther Love, stepbrother Gilbert Taylor, stepsisters Lena Towedo and Daisy Landsverk.

Survived by stepbrothers Alex Taylor of Caramat, Ontario and George Taylor of Longlac, Ontario.  Uncle to numerous nieces and nephews.  

Richard was a residential school survivor (10 years) and he worked for the Canadian National Railways (CN) for over 45 years.  He will always be remembered by  his hard work ethics and providing well for his family.  He loved hunting, fishing, trapping, playing guitar and singing gospel songs.  He loved visiting and spending time with his family.  He passed away peacefully with his family by his side.

The wake for Mr. Richard Ferris will be held on Tuesday, August 6th, 2024  from 4PM to 6PM for family, and from 7PM to 9 PM for friends and community at the Full Gospel Church in Constance Lake.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, August 7th, 2024 at 2PM at the Full Gospel Church in Constance Lake.
